Charles Mattocks began his career at the young age of 16 when he met LL Cool. His meeting was a little of a surprise to the super star rapper LL Cool because Charles just showed up at his house unannounced. LL Cool immediately took a liking to Charles and he took him under his wing. The two ended up performing together. Charles Mattocks’ music and acting career took off.
The idea of a cooking show was inspired by his son who one day asked “why aren’t there any “real” people on cooking shows?” The result was “The Poor Chef”. The show is about cooking healthy meals that are also tasty, creative and cost less than $7.00.
Recently Charles Mattocks went on a nationwide tour promoting diabetes-friendly cooking demonstrations. One of his stops was at podiatry center American Foot and Leg Specialists in Stockbridge, GA. That day he was serving samples of a delicious watermelon salad flavored with cilantro. The podiatrists at the Stockbridge location of American Foot and Leg Specialists, Dr. Jeffrey Flash, Dr. Praya Mam, and Dr. Paul Colon, were on hand to talk to attendees about diabetes and some common complication, such as diabetic foot ulcers. The staff from the Atlanta Falcolns Physical Therapy Center was also available to discuss ways to stay healthy and active on a daily basis. Visitors also received a free year-long subscription to Diabetic Living.
